These dragons are often called lucky dragons as merely seeing one around the Chinese new year is supposed to bring good luck for the upcoming year. Their real name is the Weilong, and although it is far a eastern breed its temperament is more like that of its western cousins. It is a proud and strong companion.
The young seem to take pride in protecting the blue pearly stone that they keep throughout thier life. They treat the pearl like a real treasure, polishing it whenever it has a slight speck on it. Where it came from is unknown, some think the stone is passed down through their generations. However somehow they seem to keep adding to it as it grows along with the dragon.
The adult Weilong is strong, fierce, protective, and also wise. They have been rumoured to live for thousands of years, though there is no living person who can properly confirm it. Some however have been looked after by families for generations over hundreds of years. Owning one of these will ensure you have a good year ahead, whether it is through luck, or the dragons protection and guidance.
